Doug Smith first joined Hardee’s as a back line cook in Peoria, IL in 1986 and through a series of promotions has been a VP of Operations in five (5) geographical Hardee’s markets. He joined Serazen when the company acquired the 50 stores in June 2015.
Doug spent several years as a Hardee’s Regional Training Manager where he was responsible for the training and development of management in Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, and Iowa with a total of 120 units. He then moved up to District Manager where he solely oversaw 12 restaurants (well in excess of the typical 7-8 stores per DM)
Doug’s experience as a VPO includes overseeing the following markets:
– Raleigh, NC
– Charleston/Myrtle Beach, SC
– Charlotte/Greensboro, Florence
– Columbia SC
As VPO, Doug’s responsibilities include development and coaching of the DMs, scheduling managing food cost programs, testing new products, oversight of shift leader programs and all marketing strategies
